Business Analyst - eCargo Application Services

As part of CHAMP’s eCargo Business Unit, the eCargo Portfolio team is overseeing the portfolio and helping to design new services.

Our eCargo Portfolio consists primarily of TRAXON cargoHUB, our leading Cargo Community System (CCS) connecting the global supply chain, and our suite of applications for Regulatory compliance: Traxon Global Customs, Traxon Global Security and Traxon Global eCommerce.

We are currently looking for a Business Analyst e-Cargo Application Services to join our team.

The role will be reporting to the Director e-Cargo Application Services.

In that role you will help specify IT solutions based on internal, customer or Industry requirements and specifically help define and model our One Record service offering.

Responsibilities

  • To specify IT solutions to meet the strategic, financial and operational needs of CHAMP Cargosystems clients and to provide expert consultancy and advice to external and internal business units.
  • Apply business knowledge to analyze external and internal requirements and define solutions to be provided by the most suitable technical application or combination of applications.
  • Fully document functional and technical solutions, obtain customer approval prior to technical development, and ensure updated system support documentation is produced and at the time of implementation.
  • Provide business and functional support to the technical team during development, and test programs after completion to ensure compliance with the specification.
  • Support existing customer migrations and new customer implementations of new systems, enhancements, and business information by providing consultancy, demonstrations, support and training as required on an individual basis or at customer meetings and forums.
  • Investigate operational problems, identify causes and support the testing and implementation of corrections.
  • Provide expert product support and demonstrations to the CHAMP sales force when required.
  • Provide expert pre-sales product support to our sales team or as part of Request for Proposals (project sizing, technical analysis, project planning).
  • Assist and collaborate with our team, other CHAMP teams and with our customers.
  • Remain current in industry trends and best practices in the Air Cargo industry, Information Technology and EDI topics in general and IATA One Record in particular.

To be considered as a successful candidate for this position, you should have the following education or relevant experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in information technology or equivalent
  • Knowledge of air cargo industry inter-system message formats, communication protocols and applications
  • Experience in technical pre-sales support and RFP processes
  • Customer oriented attitude and excellent organization and communication skills
  • Team player who is comfortable collaborating with international colleagues and teams, including customers/clients
  • Knowledge of all common PC office software under Windows
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English. German, French and/or others will be a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and in parallel
  • Readiness to travel world-wide, depending on customer projects

 

Following education, experience or skills will be considered as bonus:

 

  • Knowledge of air cargo business and operational processes is considered as a big advantage
  • Experience in setting up and using various data exchange formats/standards like JSON, XML and EDIFACT.
  • Experience with air-cargo industry standards, like IATA CargoIMP, IATA CargoXML, IATA One Record.
  • Experience with API technologies and modern data exchange concepts
  • IoT knowledge of benefit
  • Interested in logistics and airfreight industry
  • Willingness to learn continuously

 

The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months) certificate of conduct as per legislation of 23 July 2016
