Development Team Lead

The Development Team Lead will lead a team of skilled developers in building and maintaining high-performance software solutions.
This role is responsible for guiding the team in agile methodologies, overseeing project deliverables, ensuring code quality, and aligning with CHAMP’s standards and objectives.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a passion for team leadership and development.
The role will be reporting to Head of Product Regulatory Compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of developers, encouraging skill growth and career development.
- Project Management: Oversee project scope, timelines, and deliverables; ensure adherence to project deadlines and high-quality standards.
- Technical Direction: Drive architecture, design, and development best practices; make decisions on tech stack, frameworks, and development approaches.
- Code Quality Assurance: Conduct regular code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and maintain high code quality and security standards.
- Collaboration & Communication: Act as the main point of contact between the development team and stakeholders, providing clear updates, managing expectations, and communicating progress.
- Agile Methodology: Facilitate agile processes such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and ensure efficient sprint cycles.
- Innovation & Improvement: Continuously identify areas for improvement, including optimizing processes, improving system performance, and adopting new technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree graduate
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in languages and frameworks in JAVA development and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks.
- Agile Mindset: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience leading agile development teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge in the cargo or logistics industry is a plus.
