Senior Accountant (4-months FTC)

The role will be reporting to Finance Director.
Position Type: 4-month fixed term contract
Location: Contern, Luxembourg
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Reporting & VAT
- Manage general accounting (GL, AP & AR) of two operating companies, ensuring full compliance with local GAAPs (including German and Swiss GAAP) and IFRSPerform day-to-day operations
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing monthly reporting packages and accounts reconciliations (including intercompany transactions)
- Prepare timely the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Liaise with external auditors for Group and stand alone audits, and other external authorities (tax authorities, internal auditors)
- Prepare tax and monthly VAT returns
Treasury
- Perform daily cash management
- Manage intercompany cash and intercompany lending
- Prepare and maintain all relevant reporting related to cash flow activities
Other
- Contribute actively to maintenance and development of the internal control policies and procedures.
- Assist with special projects, as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel is required
- Deep knowledge of SAP is considered a considerable asset
- Fluency in English, good knowledge of German and/or another language is a plus
- Ability to work autonomously as well as an excellent team player
- Experience in working in cross-functional and multicultural environments
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a positive attitude
- Open-minded team player who provides creative, efficient and pragmatic solutions for given issues
Education and Experience:
- Relevant degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance
- At least 7-8 years of relevant professional experience
The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months) criminal record certificate.
