Luxembourg, June 2014 – CHAMP Cargosystems announced today that SAUDIA, the Jeddah-based flag carrier of Saudi Arabia and a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance, has chosen its new Weight & Balance solution after an extended trial period, which confirmed the solution as the “best in breed” product for managing freighter operations.

The web-based solution enables SAUDIA to meet the specific challenges of efficiently planning all loads, however complex, on its freighters.   Weight & Balance is optimized to help the freighter operator automate its loadsheet and load planning processes and further improve its financial and operational performance, reducing costs and operational risks.

“CHAMP’s Weight & Balance is a well proven tool that will not only allow us to manage load planning more cost-efficiently, but also eliminate errors due to its full automation.  We were looking for a system that would support our goal of performing centralized and optimized load planning, to ensure safety and also to reduce fuel consumption across our freighter fleet.  We are confident that CHAMP’s Weight & Balance will help us achieve this aim”, explains Younus Habib, IT Director from Saudi Airlines Cargo Company.

CHAMP’s Weight & Balance application is easy-to-use with a graphical drag & drop interface and will produce loading instructions, loadsheets (graphical and IATA formats) that can be printed and e-mailed.  The tool integrates seamlessly with cargo operational systems such as CHAMP’s Cargospot, which will save SAUDIA up to 70% of processing time and eliminate input errors. The solution’s comprehensive audit trail and reporting provides further management insight into the fleet’s performance.

“We are delighted about SAUDIA’s decision to use our Weight & Balance solution for their load planning requirements. We very much look forward to further extending our business relationship with SAUDIA. SAUDIA will also benefit from our core cargo management systems Cargospot and ULD manager, as well as CHAMP’s integrated eCargo portfolio covering global messaging, e-booking and CDMP applications.  Today’s tough competitive market along with high fuel prices necessitate advanced, integrated IT solutions to ensure operational compliance and maintain carrier competitiveness,” says James Fernandez, Vice President, Global Commercial Operations, CHAMP Cargosystems.
